Members of the Black 14 went on to obtain college degrees and had successful careers in aviation, business, education, human resources, journalism, manufacturing, and professional sports.

Mel graduated from the University of Wyoming and became the first black principal in the state of Wyoming. He has traveled across Wyoming sharing the "Black 14" message.

Ted has worked almost four decades as a foreman at a manufacturing company in Illinois. He is one of the top bowlers in the country averaging over 200 points a game.

Jay still today appears in the UW record book for interceptions returned for touchdowns. Berry became a sports anchor for television stations.
